A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER AND HOW MANKIND COPED . . . .

Dr. Jim Bowman, a renowned physicist and Chairman of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Committee for the Search of Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is joined on this committee by Dr. Angela McPherson, the staff Psychiatrist and Mike Johnson, the staff Publicist. Several prominent internationally acclaimed scientists also join the committee because of its intellectual and scientific potential. Unexpectedly, one day, they are all alerted and summoned to respond to an emergency when an unidentified flying object (UFO) crashes into the Atlantic Ocean during a fierce midnight winter storm.

As the scientists attempt to unravel the mystery of the empty flying saucer, they also puzzle over the whereabouts of the missing crew. Meanwhile, high school students discover giant footprints leading out of the ocean and note the strange, seemingly random, disappearance of people.

When unidentified flying objects boldly streak across our skies, at supersonic speeds, displaying technology unknown to man, hover over our military installations, and methodically search every corner of our planet, it will certainly foster academic fascination for the scientists; it may even present drama and mystery to the literary romanticist. But, for the future of our planet — for each country, leader and individual — it will  represent a clear and present danger! This is the story of that incident and how mankind coped.
